Can you imagine it? Spending your entire life on ice with that one single person, and then building your entire life around him, and suddenly he’s gone, and you have to, for the first time in your life, skate alone. Her moves were all the ones they’ve done together, countless times, and it was once beautiful, but now they are all empty because they are missing something. She was smiling during her dance but the second the lights went black she broke down, because that’s the first time she’s ever skated in front of an audience without him by her side. And their daughter, reaching for her mom, and wiping tears from her own eyes…I’m barely an adult myself and just discovered this couple, and I have fallen in love with them. Katia is so strong! I have watched their old clips, again and again and again and quite honestly the reason they were legendary was because they were soulmates. You can see it in every move, their souls are one! Rest in peace Sergei and I wish Katia the best. Although I don’t know you personally, you are the most powerful woman I know that has already influenced me immensely from the brief days I’ve known you.
